MUAY THAI
Explore Muay Thai, known as “the art of eight limbs,” utilizing fists, elbows, knees, and shins at The Academy by Monarchy MMA.
Muay Thai, or Thai Boxing, harnesses striking techniques using the body’s eight points of contact. This ancient martial art enhances fitness, provides robust self-defense skills, and offers deep insights into effective combat tactics.
At The Academy, our classes cater to everyone, from beginners to those prepping for competition, ensuring comprehensive skill development in a structured environment.
Training and Progression
Unlike many martial arts, traditional Muay Thai doesn’t have a ranking system until reaching advanced levels. To streamline learning, we adopt the Krang ranking system, which guides students from novice to mastery through a series of nine levels, acknowledged with arm bands and certificates.
History of Muay Thai
Originating in 18th-century Thailand, Muay Thai evolved from wartime combat to a respected sport and method of personal development by the 19th century. It’s now practiced globally, influencing various combat sports due to its effective and versatile technique set.
Benefits of Muay Thai
Muay Thai training is multifaceted, enhancing physical conditioning, flexibility, and cardiovascular health. The practice is also a powerful stress reliever and a practical approach to self-defense, emphasizing clinch-striking and close-quarter tactics ideal for real-world situations.
Classes include intensive workouts that improve hip mobility and overall joint health, integrated with defensive and offensive clinch techniques that sharpen your reflexes and situational awareness.
Join us at The Academy to master Muay Thai and transform both your body and mind through this dynamic and powerful martial art.
